hi i know i'm repeating my self but thanx again for all the people who have helped me before. ok i have a viper chip with the (Cobra BIOS v1.2 with GCoS-Ripper plugin) i have sucessfully back up the (backup.iso)using the http://192.168.1.32/backup.iso i have the iso but it wont work? i know its not the dvd disk that i'm using becouse i downloaded the the game (just for test perposes) (it's destroyed now - becouse it's illegal) (but it's not illegal to back up your own games!)(am i right in assuming this?) ok that worked fine! after i did the (fstfix)and renamed the (.gcm file to .iso) now back to my own Backup. it saved the whole image as a (1.35GB .iso)i tried burning that to disk and it did not work....ok so attempt 2 i used (fstfix) again but it mademy (1.35GB .iso to a 3GB .iso)? so i thought ok i'll try to burn it again but no luck? so is there something i'm doing wrong? pleas can some one help with this problem? thanks
From the looks of it, you're running fstfix on every iso, correct? The only time you need to run fstfix is if you download a wiped image off the Internet. A wiped image is an iso with all the garbage data removed. Whenever you rip a game, the result is a 1.35GB iso that is ready to burn as is. No need for fstfix. Now, if I was mistaken and you actually tried burning the iso right after you backed up the game, then the last possible problem lies with the iso. When you download the iso from the GC use Internet Explorer. Don't use Firefox. As great as Firefox is for browsing, it can and will ruin the iso. Also, the whole 3GB iso option on fstfix is to "pad images" that are burned to full size DVD-Rs. It isn't necessary for burning onto full size DVD-Rs, but it supposedly lengthens the lens' lifespan. Can't really verify that though.
thanks for the help i just needed to backup my own games so my daughter can play them, i'v tried a diffrent program and it seem to work now
