I am using DVD X Copy Xpress Platinum 3.2.1 and after the program asks me to insert blank media(after it has read the disc) I recieve an "error writing to blank media, check log file" or something along those lines. Anyway, when I go into the log file, it says something about the files being to big for the medi. Now Im kinda new to all of this, but shouldnt that size, take care of itself when I compress the movie? I am including the log file, in the hope that you guys will know what is wrong. Oh BTW I am also using a Lite-on DVD+R burner, and it hasnt ever given me problems before. It looks like xpress will only compress the title sets to 60%: Generating Compression Settings for 6 titlesets. If I remember correctly, "Gangs" is a 3 hour movie, right?
Yes its 167 minutes= 2 hours and 46 minutes. I do have the ability within the program to manually "up" the compression. Is this what I need to do? And to what extent?
A little trial and error may be in order, 4.36 GB is an accepted target size for good quality media, also DVD Shrink's default target size is 4464MB, so you are not missing it by much. Try 62% compression and see if that will work. I'd add compression in 2% increments untill it burns. Maybe someone will do the math for us. Frank
Hmm.....are you familiar with Platinum at all? I dont believe I can change the overall 60% compression. I can alter each individual title set however. When it was 60% overall, i had each title compressed to 40 percent, and 48 percent it still didnt work. Im getting more confused by the minute. I think the second disc might actually burn. I have it in now. Ill let you know
