Is it possible to make a gapless playlist with MP3 files. I have encoded a whole load of albums using EAC with LAME version 3.90.3 I know you can make gapless Audio CD's from MP3's as their is an article telling you how to do it on Chris Mydens website. It says you need Foobar2000. I installed Foobar2000 but is there a way to make a gapless playlist. Any help is appreciated.
I have a plugin on winamp that enables me to play gapless mp3s...no annoying gaps in pink floyd and stuff like that. The plugin i used is called "MP3Splice" which runs on the latest version of winamp...i believe it burns gapless too but i havent tried. hope this helps
Thanks for the info PM5K. I did some research and according to most sources because MP3 isn't a gapless format there is no way you can completely remove gaps before and or after each song. Read this entry from wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mp3 and also this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gapless For the time being I will finish converting the rest of my albums to MP3 (only about 50 left). But hopefully in the coming years an already lossless format like MPC will become popular and overtake MP3.
the winamp plugin does do a pretty good job for gapless audio....i honestly cant detect any gap and im pretty good at picking those type of things out (its both a joy and a curse). I have like 3000 mp3s so i better be happy with it cos im not converting all them i can assure u, lol pm5k
