I'm trying to convert an avi file (downloaded movie) to a dvd playable on my dvd player. I'm using nero vision and the burn process works directly to disk or to file. Regardless the audio is HORRIBLE. Gargbled and crackling and off pace with the video. Any help please.

Try loading/dragging the AVI source file into AviDemux.
    Set the left side menu:

    Video > Copy
    Audio > Copy
    Format > AVI
Save the file with a new name (including the extension - e.g newfile.avi) and try again with Nero.
If it doesn't help, try converting the AVI with DVD Flick instead of Nero.
