get picture and sound from dvi to hdmi

    i need help badly i want to play a movie from my netflix on my pc to see it in my panasonic 47 inmplasma using an dvi to hdmi plus rca audio. sfter i plug them all i see is the back ground picture of my pc no other picture oe sound please help

    i think you have to set it up as dual monitor in windows plus have to setup the tv to accept signal from pc.

    FOr future reference- DVI does not carry audio. HDMI does, but cannot have as high a resolution.
    and probably only the background was showing because it was recognized as a secondary display.
