I like the xecutor 2.1 lite it has the external switches for flashing and on/off for LIVE....a lot of people like the matrix tho (never tried it)
yeah the matrix is also a great chip. it doesn't come wit hthe switches but they are very easy to install as long as you can solder a bit, not as detailed soldering as installing a solder type chip, but you do need to solder on the 4 legs of the dip switch. the toggle switches can be purchased at radio shack for $1.99 each. the switches do the same thing as with the xecuter, switch chip off for xbox live, put in flashing mode, etc. from everything i've read, both are good chips, it all depends on what you want to do as far as soldering or not, or if you have a newer xbox and the matrix chip wont work for you. but overall, both chips are good.
