Seems I lost my softmod. I attempted to update my evox dash in order to play some of the games that weren't working. I backuped my info and formatted C: using AID. After I installed evox and restarted it went back to to the old MS dashboard and is no longer reading the games. What do I do? SID is still recoginizing it as a modded xbox and won't allow me to backup MS or install the evox dashboard please help me get my softmod back.
Will my original eeprom file bring my xbox back to its original state so that I can change bring the softmod back with the other program. Also I've backed up more eeprom files than I can count and I don't know if I will find it. Is there a program that can tell you wheter you carrying the original.
You haven't read enough.. backing up the eeprom is a safety net.. it's no use unless you want to use xboxhdm to rebuild the drive or recover from hardware death.. that's why we write it on a cd or a floppy and put it away for a rainy day. Don't mess about with the eeprom.. there is np need.. it's a hardware coded device.. built on the motherboard.. it id's the console and is what the hdd is locked to.. that's all.. IT WILL BE THE ORIGINAL!!!! leave it alone. You need to run the softmod exploit game again.. easy really... why did you try to update evox? .. it plays everything that is patched properly.. even the oldest versions... I guess you went about that without reading up as well eh?
Yes I did I thought I could make a quick fix. When I first did the softmod with my xbox I used the linux installer. Recently I softmodded another xbox with the SID and AID and games that were not working with mine worked with it. I beleive it had something to do with the fact that the games(ex. starwars battlefront 2) could be played on xbox live. I admit I lost it and didn't do any reading. I know that you cannot use sid with an already softmodded xbox so I was wondering if I use the old linux installer to bring xbox back to its orginal state would it then work with SID. I'll give it a try and see what happens
