    Hi everyone,

I've successfully backed a movie onto 2 dvd-r, however, the 2nd disc doesn't contain the menu options (subtitle, surround sound, etc). How can I get the menu on the 2nd disc?

    I'm using DVDFab. Thanks.

Hi data118, I think you might be able to use TMPGEnc DVD author to create menus on your second disc. I have tried it but still haven't got it figured out. I used Oriphus's guide however I need a little bit more help. If you or anyone can get it to work, let me know how!
I would use a different program(s) and try to get the thing onto one disc. CloneDVD and AnyDVD or Shrink (without re-authoring) and Nero 6 etc. I usually get rid of the menus and extras so I can have less compression, and I don't mind having the movie just start up when I put it in the player. I don't watch the extras but maybe once, so I leave them out. If I need to see them I'll watch the original disc.
    Good luck

Hi Rotary, Im going to give it another try...as I recall I had some sort of bitrate problem. I can usually duplicate faliure better than success so I'm sure I can let you know what my probs are. lol
Think I'll give it a try now, I've got a flick on my HD just waiting for torture.

    hi

you put in your settings at the top of the page! personal settings!
    and use the coding!

    like this:

    img

    http://www.hairobics.fsworld.co.uk/lostcoder.gif

    /img

you will need to put [***] infront and behind the img code before and after URL link! but not the stars! as i did this due to if i put the real code in right you would only see the picture and not the code used!

it goes in your signature on settings page

aslo what cant you find on other furoms?

    Hi rotary,
Damm I want to get TMPGEnc working! Having problems with Shrink seeing the VOBS as decrypted when I used Shrink to create the original files. I wanted to run it back through Shrink because it seemed to have grown a bit. So I started over and did the movie with Decrypter - now my bitrate was to large and had the same error message with Shrink.
What am I missing here? There is a thread in the advanced section concerning TMPGEnc guides and I posted there also. Don't know if I want to start a new thread though.
    Frank

I couldn't find how to put the .gif into my signature, Thanks!

Hi Rotary, I'll try explain what I'm trying to do with TMPGEnc DVD author. First off, all I am trying to do is follow oriphus's guide as written to re-author a DVD9 movie. I used Shrink 3.0 to Re-author and compress. The menus quit working. I want to use TMPGEnc to put a menu in and do a little editing. Not that I give a damn about the movie itself, I just want to learn the proccess!
I had two different folders on my hard drive,
each containing vid files for the same movie. One set of files had been ripped with Shrink, re-authored and compressed (I had already used these to make a backup-no probs) The other set of files were from the same movie ripped using DVD Decrypter, File mode. I opened TMPGEnc, and tried to use the files I made with shrink. I could only use the main title because it had a different aspect ratio than the other titles (widescreen movie, all else, normal screen) TMPGEnc would let me use one or the other, but not both. I proceeded, following the guide, also noticing that the movie was now to large to fit a blank disc. I think I was now seeing a size of about 4.8 gig. No problem, I'll run it through Shrink again as per the guide. I then finished by putting my TMPGEnc files in a folder on my hard drive. When I opened Shrink and selected this folder, Shrink begain to analyze for about two seconds and then gave me an error message: "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue: the error is cannot decrypt VOBS". I then deleted these files and deleted the files I first created with Shrink. I then attempted to use the files created with Decrypter. This time there was an adittional warning, besides the movie being to big to fit on a disc; Something to do with the combined audio and video bitrate to high to create a standard DVD, of course I proceded to copy this new set of files to my hard drive folder. Once again when I attempted to use Shrink, I recieved the same error message as above, "cannot decrypt VOBS". So I deleted all those files and came here. Whew!
    Thats where I'm at now,
