    hi
everytime i convert and burn a Avi/Xvid to dvd i end up with it comming out in letterbox and i lose quite a lot of the picture.

whats the best way of getting rid of this?

i use Easy Avi Divx Xvid to DVD Burner, that coverts and burns in one go
but only gives me 4:3 or 16:9 options is that where the problem lay's?

    thx for any info

You shouldn't lose anything watching a letterboxed movie - the black bars top and bottom of a regular (4:3) TV screen is all that should be seen.

    http://dl.afterdawn.com/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_v0.5.2b.exe
Import the file(s) (AVI, MPEG, VOB)
Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD.
Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv)
Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America)
Use Nero burning ROM to burn the files to DVD.
Alternatively, burn with freeware, DVD Shrink + DVD Decrypter.

you must also consider where you got the AVI/Xvid file that you are converting..... if it's from a download then chances are you got a bad version of the download and then you are converting it, which means bad quality before and the result of bad quality after conversion.
