Humm.... I guess it depends on if you can pruchase a new EEPROM For your XBOX™ (more over the On-Line Key, but whatever!),. Perhaps this XBOX Live!™ ban has tought you a lession on what happens to those who try to cheat on Live!™
hey dude if you still look at this forum, they dont ban your xbox, is what that guy was saying just make a new account and start over, but i think if you get banned enough times they do ban your xbox but im not sure about this i know modders that got banned and made a new accout and are playing in matchmaking so there you go hehe
somtimes they ban your account, sometimes they ban your xbox either way you goin to pay for something so its best not to do it.
ok before we get into "dude u suck cuz u cheat, i hope u've learned your lesson blah blah", i was using mods ONCE in an UNRANKED matchmaking game and then in a bunch of custom games with only my friends. i was using mods to have fun not to cheat ok? anyways, yea that was my second account so it doesn't really matter. but i still want to see if there is someway to get me back into matchmaking on this account. also, no they dont ban ur box for modding in halo 2....they just suspend you from matchmaking in the account you modded with. anyways though, here's how this all works i believe: a file on your xbox is changed, when you mod, to disallow you from entering matchmaking. i dont think any info about it is sent to any bungie servers or anything like that. so i'm pretty sure all this banning and stuff goes on only inside your xbox. so if its on your xbox, it can be changed. therefore, there is definetly a way to unban myself. and i need to know what file i need to modify...
every hour bungie scans the service and if you are modding they WILL know within a half hour or hour wether you are playing in matchmaking or not. 6 to 8 hours after that, you are [bold]permanently[/bold] banned on that account on matchmaking. end of story. sorry
bungie doesn't have the ability to ban your box, they simply ban that account they caught you modding with. if your busted with a modded box (unlikely nowadays, most chips can disable) they ban your eeprom within your xbox motherboard, u change change your eeprom but you have to change harddrives as well due to the eeprom and hd serial #'s being paired together by xbox live
