Hey everyone the adaptor i have doesnt have any cards or drivers with it its just a converter from rca to usb. Im wondering what drivers and possibly capture card il need to install to enable me to copy VHS to my harddrive. Any help would be great cause im pretty stuck....
Hey Dustydngo... I would do a google search on the company or manufacturer of your device to see if you can locate them. I don't know why you wouldn't have those disks as normally they would be supplied with the item. I purchased a capture device from www.altoedge.com and it works great... Lucky me it had a drivers disk.
Do you have a name/part number... for that USB capture device? That migh be helpful for someone trying to help you.
Dustydngo, Not knowing anything about your adaptor, you can try VirtualVCR if your adaptor supports WDM drivers, http://virtualvcr.sourceforge.net/html/virtualvcr/download.php or Virtualdub if your adaptor supports VfW drivers. http://sourceforge.net/project/down...name=VirtualDub-1.8.1.zip&use_mirror=internap www.Doom9.org has a nice writeup. http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/capture.htm
Oh yeah, you are still going to need drivers in order for VirtualVCR or VitualDub to recognize your adaptor. You should identify your adaptor and visit the manufacturer's website, and try to download the driver.
