I am looking to build a new pc soon and was looking for advice in gfx cards. I dont really know what kind of price range I am looking for, but I will admit I am not a hardcore gamer. I dont play crisis or any of the other top end games. If I had to take a guess Sim City Societies is the most gfx intense game I play, however I am looking for some room to hold me over for another year or two.

One other thing I require besides room to grow, is DVI output.

At a glance on newegg the XFX PVT84JUDD3 GeForce 8600GT XXX 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card - Retail Card seems very popular..would this be an option?

    So any recommendations?

It would, but even if you're not a real gamer you ought to go for a graphics card that will last you a decent amount of time - you don't want to have to upgrade in a short period of time. Go for an XFX 9600GT instead - much more potent and still reasonably priced.

you will also need a quality power supply. the corsair 450VX is very solid and stable.

Yes, the 9600GT is vastly better than the 8600GT and still very reasonably priced.
