I had that same problem once and for me the problem stemmed from having AutoPlay disabled. Try re-enabling it.... Open My Computer Right Click the optical drive your having issues with and select properties. Check the AutoPlay box. Hit OK reboot (not needed but for safe measures) and see if you drive recognizes the disc.
Had the same problem a long time ago. If you have the auto play turned on, the disc will bring up a window with playing options. Click on take no action. Then it should open in the program of your choice. If it is an especially difficult one, when the window with the choices comes up, open the movie in your player program (ie. Nero Showtime). Let the movie start to play, then exit the program. After that the movie should come up in any program you chose.
Uhh, No. It won't take any action hence the reason the option says "Take No Action". Just reenable autoplay, post back if it helps any. Tell us what happens and we'll try and help.
Sorry I didn't make my post very clear. On my machine when you click on Take No Action-the computer has recognized the disc, but is not starting it in any program. You then click on the program you want to open it with. It usually then opens the disc. Works on my computer. Just thought it was worth a try on a different computer.
