Hey everyone, recently (2~3 Months ago) I bought a PC with components I chose myself (well, sam helped me ;) and the graphics card I got was a

    Gigabyte Radeon HD3850~512MB DDR3 GPU..

I have 2GB Corsair TwinX XMS2 Ram..And it's running at 5-5-5-13. Is that alot? How do I configure this? What? I have no idea what it means.

Well that was just a side-problem but the main thing is I've been playing counter strike source and recording with fraps fine at about 40~50 FPS @ Recording, My fps normally is 60 @ 60Hz refresh rate (I can't change the rate for some reason...) Without VSYNC it goes upto 300 Max. When I record it goes STRAIGHTTT down to 30~50 and it isn't stable at all. It lags like hell and I have no idea why. It's been working fine until last week., What could it be? A virus? Spyware? DUST?

Are my drivers out dated? And how do I update them? Someone point me into the right direction please..

    ~C. =)

It wouldn't hurt to update your drivers. To do that, simply go to the manufacturer's website or register an account at driverguide.com and find the drivers appropriate for your device. Once you've downloaded the drivers, you can install them (most of the time through an EXE installer).

If you need further help try googling "Driver Installation Guide."

That performance is correct for recording with Fraps. Fraps uses a lot of CPU processing power, so will usually drop your frame rate in games to around 30. Realistically, to play games silky smooth and use Fraps to record them, you should be using a Quad core CPU.
