    Hi guys,

the flood of DVD-ROMs overwhelms me.

If you mostly wanted to burn Audio-CD, Data-DVD and rip DVDs, which drive would you choose:

    1. LG GSA-4167B

    2. NEC ND-4550

    3. BenQ DW1640

or even NEC ND-3500A or LG GSA-4166B?

Do you know anything about how noisy the aforementioned drives are?

Furthermore, media compatibility is quite important to me!

I would pick the Benq 1640 has good compatibility, most of all writes and uses Taiyo Yuden very well. Im not sure about the noise volume of the drive, I just ordered myself a Benq 1655. But for writing data using one of those drives I would choose the Benq with TY media, for writing data etc.

    Thanks for the reaction, storm1234.

But I heard that the Benq's CD-RW writing quality is very poor. Furthermore, it doesn't write DVD-RAM...

Can anybody affirm the installation problems that seem to occur quite often with the LG GSA-4167B?
