Inside of DVD burners are powerful laser diodes that I can use to makes pretty powerful handheld lasers. I'm still learning how, but I'm trying to find some broken DVD burners that people don't want. If you know of somewhere I can obtain them, awesome. If you have one, I'm willing to pay shipping to get it to me. Please, only in the US.

If you want to make powerful lasers, you'd be better off learning how to make a CO2. Even a small one can be several watts, not the milliwatt range of burner diode lasers. Although more expensive, ruby rod lasers aren't hard to make either, and can produce several megawatts, very briefly. And both can be made reasonably small.

Dunker: I know, but I'm starting out with these. Thus why I'm asking for broken DVD burners, so I don't have to spend a lot of money if I screw up.
