Got to be a quicker way!?!

I've recently had too find a new way to burn dvds as I've suddenly lost the ability to burn dvd-compatible discs with NVE. I've spent countless hours searching the forums and guides, and decided to give TMPGENC a try. If the file is already an .mpg, TMP DVD Author works great - quick and good quality. However, if it's an .avi I had to download TMP Xpress to convert the .avi to .mpg files, then burn them.

First off, it's taking a minimum of 5 hours to convert these files to mpg. Second, some of the converted files, which are about 700mb to start with, are only around 63 mb once converted?

It just seems like such a waste of time, when NVE was able to encode and burn the disc in under 2 hours. Is there any other programs available that can do it all in one? I don't want to purchase something until I know it will work for me, currently using the TMP trial downloads.

Try VSO DivxToDVD (free version, downloadable from this site). It can convert videos of different formats (mpeg, avi, mov, wmv etc.) into dvd compliant format ready for burning.

Thanks. I should have been a bit more thorough.

I've tried Divx to DVD, and it works okay. I've also tried winavi with success. However, I would like a program that is able to create menus, etc. I don't think I can do that with either of those programs.
