Well i've stepped up to the HD experience and found out all those great looking backups i've done look completely awful on my new HDTV.

    What gives?

I've backed up movies my kids love so i could comfortably let them handle and play them without worring they'll ruin them. They played back crystal clear and perfect on my standard TV in the PS2. I ALWAYS burned them at half speed and did 2 passes for quality.

Now in my PS3 on the HD tv these movies look worse than VHS quality. The picture is grainy and fuzzy. I did a comparo between the real DVD of Jurassic Park and a copy i made over night last night to test it. The real DVD looks pretty good for an SD format DVD. But the copy looks terrible.

I used DVDFab Platinum4 to decrypt just the Main Movie. Then Nero 6 ultra "Copy entire DVD-Video" to burn it. My burner burns at 16x so i burned the disc at 8x's for better quality, I also ticked of the option box to have it burn at a low speed for quality. And did 2 passes. I would imagine that would produce a pretty excellent copy. Alas I was dead wrong. The difference quality is night and day. Is there another option or speed or any type of setting i should be tweaking in Nero to get a better looking picture? Maybe it's DVDfab...is there a setting i should fuss with there too?

A friend of mine says just burn the disc with DVDFab, he's always had better discs letting DVD fab do everything. Has that been true for anyone else?
