Hi All: Boy am I glad I found this website. Please be gentle with me, I am a 60 year old Great-Grandmother who just wants to stay up with technology (if that’s possible). I have 9 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. When the children come to visit, they can destroy my DVD’s so what my goal is to make a copy for them to watch. Then my originals can be preserved. My system specs, as I know them: 1800 Athlon 512 Ram 200 GB HD-partitioned-The drive I want to use for my movies is 45 GB The file system does read: FAT 32 DVD Player Artec 16X LG DVD Burner model #4040B Ritek GO4 Media 4x DVD -R I opened a file folder for the movie I wanted to copy (or is it burn, rip ?) Sorry haven’t learned the techno-babble yet. This folder contains Audio_TS, Video_TS and ISO file 4,194,066 KB, the movie I want to make a backup copy of. Am I supposed to put all of these files in the same folder? I used the DVD Shrink 3.1.7.6-Followed the advised directions. I also downloaded DVD Decrypter 3.2.2.0- Gives me an error message “Invalid or unsupported file format when I click on the ISO file to burn. I do have Nero 6.?, so burned a DVD @ 2x’s, took 27minutes. Now it won’t play, something burned on the disk but I cannot even check the properties. I think I made a coaster. I have a 4.3.8 version of DVD Xcopy Platinum coming, do you think this will allow me to make my back-ups? Or should I sell it and figure out what the problem is with the above specs? Now What? Really want to learn this and have read most of the posts, but am bewildered now. Any and all information is greatly appreciated.
Hi pkoontz, Welcome to the forum. If you go into the DVDShrink settings you can set Shrink to start an auto burn with either Decrypter or Nero. Just click the box for which ever one you want to use. What this will do is have Shrink rip and compress the movie and then call up Nero or Decrypter to start the burn process automatically and will place the file in the proper place and order for a good burn. Should be guides off the guide tab at the top of the page of setting up this process. Hope this helps. If you need more info, just jump back on here. I'm at work and am not always by the computer but someone will answer if I can't get back to you. Good luck. Jerry
