    Ok heres the deal. Im upgrading my cpu to a 3.0 p4 prescott cpu 800fsb 1mb cache. I have some extra cash and want to upgrade my graphics card. I currently have a ati radeon 9600 pro, and would like something thats a "step up" but with enough power so that it will be worth the purchase and that i wont have to worry about upgrading it again in a year or two. Id like to stick with ati products, AGP only too. What do you all suggest? Thanks.

    well my opinion is that If you really want to play the new games coming out for the next year or 2, I wouldn't get any card with 128 megs of ram you will be dissapointed in the long run, especially considering everything else about your pc is nice, I'm not trying to persuade you and all but I also wouldn't but a vanilla 6800. The 7 series was just released a few days ago so even my 400 dollar 6800gt can be had for 300 bucks now, expect price cuts on all 6 series of cards also bfg has a lifetime warranty on every card they sell , my opinion with that rig at least get a 6800 gt or splurge and get a ultra, as a surprise nvidia will not be releasing any new 7 series of cards in agp flavors so 6 it is for me also. alot more info can be found at forums.nvidia.com.

    10751 3D Mark 03. The card & FSB were clocked though! I am really happy with the card. I would love to build an SLi system (7800 ultras) with an AMD dual core or an FX 57. Oooohhhh babyyyyy!!!!!

    Mine is actually an LE, Rivatuned to 16 pixel pipelines & all but one vertex shader. All for £135 delivered!
    As far as I am aware it was only the Gainwards that could be tuned. But I may be wrong on that point!

    Here is a link to the card I got;

    That was one bargain I could not turn down!

    forumcrew If you go to newegg.com and click video cards then select 6800gt you will see that they have 5 diffrent 6800gt's starting at 278.00 to 303.00 and you can read the reviews to each 1, although at 300.00 dollars out of the bunch I would reccomend the second pr0 version of the xfx 6800gt believe me everyone nvidia is about to drop these cards another 30.00 bucks in the next 4 weeks do to 4 new 7 series of cards. I wouldn't lie to anyone, peace.

    @ Pulsar.... sorry dude i total misread & misunderstood your post, the 1550fps you get in the first test on 03 is the actual fps display on the test i thought you meant average fps in the result page when it's all complete , i amaze myself sometimes :0 ... i score 9013 with a 6600GT heres a compare link http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=3914799 i know it says gpu @299 but it was clocked to 586 , i get a max frame rate of around 940fps in the same test you referd to, and thats a nice unlock on that card ;)

    well in theory the 6800gt is clocked at 350 - 1000 and you can download coolbits and push a button to choose optimal overclock an display properties. it will then run a series of test on it's own and give you back a number that is pretty much guranteed not to kill your card but remember any overclocking can kill anything it's just nice that it does it for you and will not go any higher for overheating situations. now the oc version comes at out of the box 370 1100 and when I clicked optimal frequency button it went to 426 1200 on air! now if you dont get the oc version it will probably still hit 400 1100 which is awesome considering thats a stock not oc 6800 ultra speed! so either way you will easily hit ultra speed with your card with no ill side affects!

    "Whoring the thread". Just what does that mean?
    You asked a question, people answered.

    What's the problem?
