Does anyone know if you can play the new rom called Guitar Hero - On Tour - USA without the plug-in accessory or the guitar pick? Can you use the NDS buttons to play the game?

I haven't heard for sure, but I'd wager that would be a no. I read somewhere that the reason the new peripheral was so neat was that it actually added new buttons to the DS, rather than remapping existing buttons. This suggests that you can't use the existing buttons for the game.

And even if you could play the game without it - where would be the fun?

I just stumbled upon this at gbatemp, and reminded me of this thread so I thought i'd post it here:

Quik guide to play an hacked guitar hero, Without the guitar grip

(Note I havn't actually tried this hack, but replacing an arm file is very easy, i've done it before with other games)

I bought it, the grip isn't great, might try the remapping feature. If your an adult with big hands prepare for a lot of cramping, my wife has no problems with it though

I won't lie, I bought it... I must say, it's a blast! It's definitely not up to the console version, but come on, it's a handheld.

Yeah, it hurts my hand after a couple songs, but man is it worth it when I'm sitting at my desk rocking out and all my buddies are crowded around trying to see my screen! lol
