Playing online through your PC is not called xbox live. It's done using tunneling software called either "xlink kai" or "neXBC" I have used both and found them quite good but it was a pain to go to the computer everytime to enter another room. I have a modded box with a 200gig HD and play xbox live without a problem. Your mod chip needs to be disabled while on xboxlive and you can't use copied games.
