I have a little handheld TV that's got like a 2 inch screen or something. It's only got a headphone jack and another similarly shaped jack named "Antenna." Because of the switch to digital in February 2009, will this device be pointless after the switch? And what is the "antenna" input for since the device has its own mini antenna. Is there no way to plug something into it, like a VCR or game console. Even though it wouldn't make sense, I'm just trying to find some use for the thing.
The device has its own mini antenna which is probably OK if you live quite near a transmitter. If you find the signal is poor on some stations you can connect an external antenna, such as a rabbit ears type of a roof top one. That is what the socket is for. If you have a VCR or game console with an RF output socket, you could connect it to the antenna socket on your handheld TV. Such a TV would not work with digital TV transmissions. You can buy 3 inch analog handheld TVs for around 20 UK punds, $40 equivalent, so you won't be losing much. Right now, 3 inch digital ones are around £100, ($200) but the price is sure to come down.
