I don't know if I'm ready for 2006 yet...is it me or did 2005 just fly by?

New Years resolutions we can keep..FOR SOME HERE IT WILL BE HARD...

Are you sick of making the same resolutions year after year that you never keep? Why not promise to do something you can actually accomplish? Here are some resolutions that you can use as a starting point:
    1. I want to gain weight. Put on at least 30 pounds.
    2. Stop exercising. Waste of time.
    3. Read less.
    4. Watch more TV. I've been missing some good stuff.
    5. Procrastinate more.
    6. Drink. Drink some more.
    7. Take up a new habit: smoking.
    8. Spend at least $1000 a month on Ladies of the Night.
    9. Spend more time at work.
    10. Take a vacation to someplace important: like to see the largest ball of twine.
    11. Stop bringing lunch from home: I should eat out more.
    12. Quit giving money & time to charity.
    14. Start being superstitious.
    15. Have my car lowered and invest in a really loud stereo system. Get the windows tinted. Buy some fur for the dash.
    16. Speak in a monotone voice and only use monosyllabic words.
    17. Only wear jeans that are 2 sizes too small and use a chain or rope for a belt. Only wear white T-shirts with those fashionable yellow stains under the arms.
    18. Personal goal: bring back disco.

    Drinks for THE NEW YEAR

    Vanilla Coke

    2 ounces vanilla syrup
    Coke to fill
Serve in a mason jar over a scoop of ice cream.
Garnish with a cherry and two straws.

A whisper of cinnamon and cloves spices up this warm beverage created in our Test Kitchen. Hand your guests a hot mug as they arrive.

    Hot Scarlet Wine Punch

    1 32-ounce bottle cranberry juice (4 cups)
    1/3 cup packed brown sugar
    2 inches stick cinnamon
    4 whole cloves
    1 750-ml bottle white zinfandel

    Direction:

    1. In a large saucepan, combine cranberry juice, brown sugar, cinnamon stick and cloves. Bring to boiling; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Remove spices.

    2. Add white zinfandel. Heat until just warm. Ladle into mugs or transfer to a warm, heatproof pitcher and pour into mugs. Makes 14 servings.

Note: If you like, substitute 3 1/4 cups white grape juice for the white zinfandel and omit the brown sugar.

    Make-Believe Champagne

1 33.8-ounce bottle carbonated water, chilled
1 33.8-ounce bottle ginger ale, chilled
1 24-ounce bottle unsweetened white grape juice, chilled
Ice cubes or Party Ice Cubes (recipe follows)

    Method:
In a large pitcher combine carbonated water, ginger ale, and grape juice. Pour over ice cubes in chilled champagne glasses or wine glasses. Serve immediately. Makes about 20 (4-ounce) servings.

For Party Ice Cubes: Place small pieces of fruit (berries or tiny citrus wedges), small sprigs of fresh mint, or 1/2-inch strips of orange peel into the compartments of ice cube trays. Add enough water to fill, then freeze.

    Fruity Fruit Shake

    1 cup orange juice
    1/2 cup apple juice
    1 ripe banana, peeled
    5 or 6 strawberries
1 carton (8 ounces) fruit yogurt
    2 teaspoons honey
    4 or 5 ice cubes

In an electric blender, combine orange juice, apple juice, banana, strawberries, yogurt and honey. Process until well combined. Refrigerate until chilled. If you want to drink these drinks right away, then add the ice cubes also when blending.

    Frozen Mango Daiquiri

1 ripe mango (about 12 oz) peeled, pitted and coarsely chopped
    1/4 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
    2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
    2 tablespoons superfine granulated sugar
    3 ice cubes

In blender, combine mango, pineapple juice, lime juice and sugar. Blend on high speed until smooth. Add ice cubes, blend until smooth and slushy. Immediately pour into stemmed glasses and serve.

Drink's for New Years Eve (2005),

    1) A Sprite,
    3 cherries in it,
    And some cherry juice.

    2) Chocolate Ice Cream (2 scoops or less),
Put the ice cream in a glass,
    Add orange juice.

You may think #2 is gross, but with the luck you'll get the hang of it :)
