Hard Disk Preparation?

    Greetings!

    I am in the process of modding my xbox, and wanted to install a larger hard drive. I plan on using a Western Digital WD800JB. My question is, since the drive was previously used in a PC (it contains previous files, etc) does it need to be formated by my PC, or will my mod chip's OS (Xenium Gold chip) be able to utilize it as is when upgraded to the larger drive? Thanks for you input!

    You need the right BIOS with LBA48 to set up your hard drive.

    i dont know what the xenium chips come with from the manufacturer but my xecuter 2.6 came with the cromwell bios pre flashed in that it had format hdd,unlock hdd and lock hdd so i dunno whatthe xenium will come with....

    My Xecuter 3 came with the cromwell, and the only thing I could do with the cromwell was to flash a BIOS.

    well the cromwell 3.03 came with everything i said but i dunno....
