im thinking of putting in a new hard drive into my xbox. however i dont know what to put in. right now i have a xbox v1.0 softmodded with the stack drive and upgraded disc drive. i need (a ton) more memory and (a lot)more speed but also want it to be quiet. so what i want to know is what is the best hard drive out there?
Seagate Maxtor Western Digital Here's a chart to help with xbox compatibility http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/ Get the biggest you can afford. I have Maxtors, no problem with noise.
thanks hey its you again thankx do you know if computer hard drives work for the xbox or am i way off?
No problem. Yeah, regular ole PC drives are what you use. Some won't work right with the xbox though, that's why you should check out that chart.
Yes, PC drives are what they are. Know that if you do this, and plan to go on Xbox Live it will most likely ban you. You will also need to go to a torrent site and find Slayer 2.6 http://www.teammodders.com/viewtopic.php?t=672 there is a great tutorial on installing it and formating it, then installing all the apps and such off Slayer 2.6 I am supposing it will have to be softmodded again. You will also need a Torx 10 & Torx 20 bits to open it. I saw a Seagate 300GB drive on sale at Circuit City or Best Buy that after rebates was only $99 which is great. And that will give you plenty of storage space.
sweet, ill have too look into that. right now i've been pulled to a stop with my xbox because the router broke on my computer. do any of ya'll know where i can find a guide on how to fix it or what the roblem might be...if it helps its a linksys WRK54G it just stop "routing" if any 1 knows how to fix it (and put it in plain language) i'd really appreciate it.
i should also mention that i think the problem is that the dhcp or whatever its called has been turned off so can i also get someone to tell me how to turn that back on.
go to my sig, click on teammodders, go to the xbox tutorial forum. Then find one on how to set up internet connection sharing, or network sharing and try that. also read all the FTP tutorials and make sure everything is set up right.
