I heard that installing a new hard drive is a tricky thing, some sort of software would have to be installed as well. is that true or can I just plug it in and it would work.

now I have 2 250gig working as a 500g in raid 0, I want to install a new 500g and I have no space to put in the hard drive but do have a expansion slot can I just put in there. also since my hard drives are in raid 0 do i have to do anything special.

    thanks

as far as i know it should just work, if it doesnt show up in my computer(i assume your'e running windows), then check device manager if its listed there you may have to go into disk management and initialize it

Personally I always use a Diagnostic disc to set my new hard drives which you can download for free from Manufacturer of your hard drive. Windows does not always show you the full capacity of large hard drives but if your bios is up to date and you use a diagnostic disc it is straight forward.
