I had my built computer open for about a month, just too lazy to close the case with the hard drive sitting outside on the floor. When the computer was like that it ran fine. I just closed it up for Christmas and now the secondary D: drive randomly shuts off. It diappears from My Computer. I have to either reboot the system or open it, unplug the power, plug it back in and say "Find New Hardware" under device manager to find it. Again, the problem only happens when the computer is closed. What could be wrong?

The drive lays label up horizontally on a hard drive rack. Reseating both cables worked for now and it hasn't shut off yet but I don't know when it'll happen again. The drive doesn't get hot to the touch. Its a 200GB Maxtor (I hate, I'm on my 3rd)
