I have a Maxtor 200GB hard drive that shuts off whenever it feels like. At times it just shuts off when downloading torrents and at other times when the computer is in use. Sometimes this causes my computer to freeze requiring a hard restart. When I do a hard restart, the computer doesn't go past the BIOS requiring me to open the case and unplug the power and SATA cable from the drive and plug it back in. As of now there are no bad sectors on the drive. What could be wrong here?

is either the outer or inner circuit board of the drive is going bad so replace it asap before final failure.
