hard drive

    posted this some time ago but never got a reply so here goes again.got new external hard drive when ever i switch it on all the icons on the desctop jump to one side.. i position them again then switch on again and away the fly againto the left hand side . anyone any ideas how to overcome this.

    try moving the hard drive further away from your monitor when you do it if you have a crt could be the power causing magnetic issues or something i spose.

    otherwise im stumped

    no tried that but wont work all jump back as usual thanks anyway

    I think when u are putting in the new hard drive it is reseting you dektop, you can lock the icons i think, i don know off the top of my head how though
