Hard Drive

    i have a hard drive lyin around.is it safe and possible to connect it as slave to my computer..im runnin out of space.

    hey,
    genraly if its me i just throw it in and c what happens. if it works first time smile, it dont happen that often. To be honest tho i genraly test drives using a usb caddy, b4 i go poking around im pc. if u dont have one and a fairly confident go 4 it knock yourself out. just remeber to set the jumper to slave (or cable select depending on your existing drive) and you'll prob have to format it. a word of advice tho if its out an xbox that u dont have any more dont bother it will prob be locked and ur wasteing you time.

    whats this thing about static that may be in , any old hard drive...will it damage my computer.

    touch the hd casing to tower metal & any static buildup will discharge safely.
