hard or soft mod?

i recently bought a modded xbox. how do i know if it is hard modded or soft modded

 

do you see mochip, external switch or light inside the xbox? if so, it is hardmod.

 

do i need to see all of those
cuz i see a red light flashing on the inside threw the grates on the side of the box
and the light turns red when i turn it on... is that hard mod

 

So you see the red light flashing inside the xbox and underneeth the DVD drive, right? If so, that is a modchip.

There is NO light inside the xbox for softmod.
