    Hi,
I recently updated my 360 to play divx but I am unsure if I can play divx with SRT or sub files.
Also can anyone explain to me if its not possible how one would go about hardcoding the subs to the movie file?

    I appreciate you time.

    Al

    Hi!!

I think that there is no problem to worry about. You can play divx movies.
A divx movie can play both I think but I prefer .srt files for sure.
I am going to help you as much I can.
Basically I know a procedure to convert .avi files so the movie can play on any DVDPlayer, Including the Xbox I think.

Do you want to give a try? It's not that difficult. I will tell you what to do.

I am waiting for your reply!!

    Hi again!!

I am really sorry about the late reply. I had problem with the internet connection...:-(

Anyway let's pay attetion to your problem.

First create a new folder on your desktop.
Then copy the movie and paste inside the folder.
After that do the same to the .srt file.

So now we have the movie .avi file and the .srt subtitle file inside the folder.

Now pay attetion to the names...
For example let's say that the name of the movie is "Back To The Future".
Then the names should be like this:

Movie name: Back To The Future
Sub name: Back To The Future.srt

    OR

    Movie name: Back_To_The_Future
    Sub name: Back_To_The_Future.srt

Thats all about how to make the subs and the movie play together.
Now let's make both available to play on any DVDplayer...;-)

    Download ConvertXtoDVD.
Here is a site you can find it:

If you want try another but it shouldn't be demo version because it will convert only one part of the movie and not all the movie.

Install the program and run it.
Then a window will appear asking you if you want to try it for free, if you want to buy it or if want to unlock it.
Click the unlock button and do the "tricks" with the keygen.
    Now the program is ready.

Click the white cross with the green background. That is the add button.
Select the movie you have inside the folder.
Now the movie you want to convert is selected. I think that when you select the movie also the subtitle file is selected too and that's because it's in the same folder.
Check it.. there is an icon of a dialoge bubble and say "Subtitle stream".
If there is no subtitle file inserted, right click on it and select "Add Subtitle Channel". Find the subtitle file .srt and open it.

    Then click "Settings/General"
    Those are some general options.
I want you to click on the "Burning" table and choose as a burning speed the half of the blank dvd is supported.

If the blank dvd is 1x-16x then select for burning speed 8x
If the blank dvd is 1x-8x then select for burning speed 4x etc..

Uncheck the box that says "Send burn statistics to VSO online database".

After you do that click on the "Encoding" table.
The encoding quality/speed should be "High quality/Slow encoding"
    for best convert.
And at the target size it's your choice what you select because you know what size of blank DVD you will use.
Then press the OK button to save the settings.

Now press the Convert button to start the converting.
When the convert finish the program will ask you to burn the movie.
Check once again the burning speed as we said before and burn.

    That's all... Nice work.
Now the movie can play on any DVD player with the subtitles.

I will wait for your reply.
I want to know if the movie can play on the XBox.

    See you.

Instead of a pirated Convertx, try the free DVD Flick if you want to convert to DVD.
