Hello peeps. I am trying to unlock my xbox harddirve. i tried the swap method but i keep on gettin errors. is the any softwareout there that i can use to unlock my xbox harddrive. I dont have access to a moded xbox. Are there any computer applications out there that i can use. Tanku
There is really only one way to unlock the drive. That is to rely on the password stored on the system board of your Xbox (unless, of course, you knew it already). And there are a couple of ways to retrieve that information, one way would be a hardware mod (aka installing a mod chip). The other way is a software mod (aka softmod), and there have been 2 different ways that people have come up with to retrieve it that way. Those would be the "Swap Trick" and the save game exploit. The software mod relies on the system board to initially unlock the drive and then takes advantage of the fact that the drive is already unlocked to access it's contents.
