first, do not format anything. - download any of autoinstaller disk. Extract it and burn the iso to DVD-R. - Turn on xbox with that disk inside the dvd drive to see if it load. If yes, then you success. Then I will guide you more.

Well format it the way you would like the partitions sized then install a dashboard, and if you have another older hard drive with backups on it, you can used chimps to copy it.
This sounds like alot if your xbox is hardmodded (with a chip) cant your chip just ftp the drives's contents to your pc put in the new HDD have hte chip format it and ftp the drives back to your new hard drive itll keep everything the same just have more space (thats how i did mine) i never used a auto installer disc bc my chip does everything what chip do you have and does the auto installer mke the drive modded?
