When I try to fully erase a datawrite DVD-RW disc using nero 6, after about 3 minutes I get an erase failure error. About one in ten times it will work but mostly it is the same no matter which DVD-RW I use, even ones that are already blank!!

I have also noticed that when I click on disc info. sometimes it indicates there is no capacity then other times it will indicate full capacity.

    I am using a pioneer DVR-106D burner.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

    Thanks

Just update Nero to the latest version, which should solve this problem. If not, just let them know so that they can correct the problem with the next update patch.

Cheers, but i tried that. First I updated then I emailed them with the problem and they didn't bother replying. If this is the case is there anything else I can use to erase/format them that is more stable.

    Cheers again

You say that you cannot format a DVD-RW.
Well you use Datawrite, have you tried other media brands as well?
I am asking because I use Nero, I have the same burner and with Maxell DVD-RWs I never had a problem.

I'll try some more maybe, but I've got 20 of the little buggers and they didn't come cheap!!!

Thanks all for your help, I'm learning slowly!
