Im torn between the two. They both have virtually the same features and mpeg2 which is a huge plus. Which one should i get? I just want to record tv shows and use it as a PVR, and id like to get one that has composite in jacks if possible, but thats not nessacary, i can get a firewire card for that, so i can hook up my DV camera to it.
Also, will the Media Center Edition hauppauge cards work in a system (XP Home) that doesnt have media center installed? THanks.

Get the Hauppauge. Far more 3rd party software support, and all-round better card.
Yes, the MCE versions will work in regular xp.
The difference is the MCE version has no remote, but has FM radio, the retail has a remote, but no FM.

Hey Reboot. I would like to get a MCE version for my other computer(cheaper). I have the regular pvr-150(w/remote) now and it works great. You say the MCE will work great with XP Home? Are there any differences in quality, setup, operation that would be different. In other words- I am not worried about the remote at all. would it do exactly the same thing without the remote and without sacrificing anything else(plus get the FM)?
