O.K. boys and girls, I don't start threads often but, with all the glumness about as of late, I thought that I would sacrifice my pride and make myself a laughing stock just for the sake of morale. Are you ready for this???

[bold]GERRY1's FIRST POST ON AD! I had just spent three days trying to erase unerasable DVDs!![/bold]

(I thought my first question was home theater related; I forgot about this little gem!)

Yeah, I buy them LOL! ...no, that's not true actually. I've got it pretty well down now but it has to be really easy like my XCOPY Platinum or I just have a melt down. I've tried using Nero and I was ready throw my puter out the window after five mins! (I'm not the patient sort with some things...I think its Attention Deficit Disorder or something of the sort.

That was a good one, LOL

I've seen other peeps having the same problem with that little RW logo. I even caught a seller on ebay selling -RW fuji when the picture showed them as -r because it had the itty bitty RW trademark.

    Here's one even stupider:

It reminds me of 1 post of someone wanting to burn onto dvds with his cd-rw drive.

ah, ddp, i remember that infamous post. what a long way you've come :p

i dare any of you to find my *first post*, which i've already located and read tonight. for the first part, i seem to have been fortunate enough to avoid such stuff, only because i hardly post.

ger, you're definitely a great guy to have around here. ^.^

@Auslander...why thank you, me boy, I've had a great time since joining but you know..."IHoe" just admonished someone to be nice to the newbiew who asked if he could burn a DVD without a DVD burner. While I confess I got a good chuckle out of the response .... "use a hammer" and "buy crayons and color it in" LOL! "IHoe" was absolutely right to tell the guy to be nice to the Newbies...he wasn't nasty or disrespectful and we need to bear that in mind.

Spending three days trying to erase nonerasable CDs or DVDs was pretty damned stupid (hell, I even returned the computer and got another because it wouldn't do it LOL!) but you know, had someone written and called me stupid or poked fun at me, I don't know that I would have returned. So I'd like to thank IHoe for that adminishment: [bold]next time I'm tempted to give a wise-a$$ answer to a dumb question, I'll remember the stupid jerk who actually returned a computer for not erasing unerasable DVDs LMAOF!![/bold]

I must admit IHoe was right. I shouldn’t have tried to add what I thought was humor to the post. As to the mistake of your DVD+RW problem that actually happened to me. It would be an easy mistake with newbie’s.

But as I did apologize in the other thread I also added that if newbie’s would search the forum and read up on things before posting that allot of post would be answered if they just took the time to search.

@Larry...hell, we all do the same thing with questions like that ... it's so hard to resist the temptation to answer as you did...which gave me a good laugh, by the way! We get really comfortable with each other and can't resist the opportunity for a good laugh! It's human nature. It's good that Ihoe or others remind us, from time to time, that it could have been any one of us.
