having problems backing up mp3s to disk

    Hi my album collection is growing on my computer have approx 60 albums in 1 file approx 5.5gb i want to put them on a data disk just in case anything happens to my comp and i lose them all but dont know what to do i.e procedure and type of software to use can anyone help

    how are all of your albums in one single file? That sounds quite strange...what software are you using to rip your CDs???

    Nevertheless, if you have a DVD Burner it should be pretty easy. First get winRAR, so you can split your file into two pieces, and then burn each one onto a DVDROM using any burning software like nero

    forgot to add...if you don't have a DVD burner, and you want to backup the file to CD-R, that will work too, it will just take quite a few do burn. winRAR has an option to automatically split the file into 700MB chunks so they will fit on CDRs

    thanks but when i go to use nero it keeps telling me another application is using the windows BURNINGTION application(IMAPI) EXIT THE OTHER APPLICATION but nothing is running

    have you had this problem before when burning disks? try restarting your computer
