I have a sony vaio VGC-RB34G and I hadn't burned anything in a while but i bought some dvds to burn some of my movies and i downloaded convertxtodvd well once i started to burn the movie to convert it got less than partially done then it ejected and gave me this message 03 0C 00 and 05 2C 00 I tried it again with a different disk and same thing happens. So I try copytodvd to burn it and it also gives me a error so then later i decided to burn data files onto a dvd with sonic record and that also gave me a error message i tried it again and the same thing happened In all the programs it started burning and got to like 29% or 40% then just stopped ejected and gave me a error, is there anyway to fix this or is my drive dead?
See if there's a firmware update for your drive. You can also try this: Go into your Device Manager, and find your drive. Right click on it, and choose "Uninstall". After it uninstalls, reboot, and let Windows detect new hardware, and install new a driver for you. Good luck!
I actually updated from bfs1 to bfs2 yesterday (a bit after i posted this topic) but it didn't appear to have helped it still burns then stops mid through and gives me a error. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGCRB34G&upd_id=1911&os_id=16 thanks for the luck i might try to uninstall right now.
