Hello all, just joined and I have a slight problem, hope someone can help me. Heres whats happening: I convert an AVI to VOB using "ConvertXtoDVD", then burn it with "Nero 8", no problem, everythings fine. Burns well, plays great! BUT! If I convert that same VOB file I just created back to avi, then convert it to a new VOB file, when I go to burn it Nero 8 gives me a warning message; "VOB file is NOT recognized as a compliable VOB file, burn process may fail". Is converting a VOB file that was previously created with "ConvertXtoDVD" back to AVI then back again to a new "burnable" VOB file just not possible? Or do I need to hunt down a more versatile conversion program? Sounds a bit involved I know, but I hope someone understands my question,,,,, Thanks!
Use the free dvdshrink to open the folder where the vob's are. If dvdshrink cannot open those files then they are not dvdcompliant. If you get "navigation errors", you can use the free "fixvts" to make the vob's dvd compliant. Make sure to process all vob's. It's strange that convertx2dvd is giving you non-compliant vob's. That program is usually very reliable.
Yes, I found that strange also, I've been using Convertx2Dvd for quite some time now and never had a single problem. Which leads me to suspect that this particular batch of vob files giving me trouble may have an isolated problem. Not really sure, but I'm going to try what you suggest. Thanks!
