i encoded an avi w/ winavi (something quick, not picky about quality unless its an actual dvdr) that was originally in widescreen format then i burned it. i tried to play it in my standalone, and the picture was squished into a fullscreen format, so i went and checked it in the puter and it played in widescreen. oh yeah theres no aspect controls on either the tv or the dvd player, so no easy way to fix it. what am i doing wrong? is it in the encoding where im messin up, or am i just gonna feel really stupid when i get the answer? thanx to all who take the time to help. -Props
dont feel bad, I am having the same problem as well but I have been using dvdSanta. Burned dvd is great, just the aspect is the problem, mine doesnt all fit on the screen. About an inch of the left and right sides cant be seen, but its not much of a distraction. Anyone know if I'm doing something wrong?
