This could be put in BR and HD and I am confused as to where it would best fit so will just post it here. My question is what is the limit of each format BR has been talking about its jump to 80GB and beyond while HD has been slowly leaking info that it can got 10 and 20 GB higher is HD and BR totally unlike DVD with a set limit of 9GB? Can they do tricks with the layers and spiral them 10X or more? And have the same launch drives read a multi layer disc? or will there be a hidden mini update that will make half the current HD/BR drive obsolete in order to use the new multi layered discs?
For movies: BD comes as a sigle layer 25 GB disc and a dual layer 50 GB disc. HD-DVD comes as a single layer 15 GB disc, a dual layer 30 GB disc, and as a hybrid single layer HD-DVD (side A) dual layer DVD (side B). For computers and storage things get more complicated... Since the PS3 is built on the "movie" side of things and not the storage side of things making the PS3 a max of 50? So I guess capacity is locked in for BR and HD .
