HD problem!!

ok i softmodded my xbox and my friend wanted his modded aswell but he told me his xbox was messed up (error 13 on boot)
i tried all the methods to fix it
-unplugged the ide cables to the hard drive and dvd-rom
-tried different cables
neither seemed to work do you think there is any way to fix his xbox other than buying a new hd.
on the side note im buying a larger hd for my xbox can i put my old hd in his xbox??

 

You could just erase and rebuild it with xboxhdm.

 

alright but dont i need the eeprom from the original xbox to rebuild.

 

You need a eeprom, but it doesn't have to be from your old hd.
