HDD Choice

    Hello.
    I wanna buy a 160 gb HDD SATA.
    What HDD should i chose:

    HDD MAXTOR 160GB 7200rpm 8Mb Serial-ATA 150 6Y160M0 DiamondMax Plus 9...103,7$
    HDD SAMSUNG 160GB 7200rpm 8Mb Serial-ATA 150 SP1614C SpinPoint...111,2$
    HDD WDIGITAL 160GB 7200rpm 8Mb Serial-ATA 150 8,9ms WD1600JD...103,5$
    HDD SEAGATE 160GB 7200rpm 8Mb Serial-ATA 150 8.5ms ST3160023AS Baracuda 7200.7...108$
    HDD SEAGATE 160GB 7200rpm 8Mb Serial-ATA 150 8.5ms ST3160827AS Baracuda 7200.7 with NCQ...108,7$

    My configuration is: MB Asus P5GD1 Pro
    Proc Celeron D 2800 LGD
    2x256 DDR 400 Geil Value
    Right now i have a Samsung 40gb, 2 mb, IDE
    And one more question: what is NCQ? :)

    yes, they are MUCH cheaper.
    But i'm from Romania so the transport will cost me a lot of money:)
    i heard that WD have a lot of problems these days

    romania........... yup, thats far, shipping will cost you a nut and a leg ! i'd go with the maxtor !! thats what i have now, actually, i have two of them. but i read that the W/D were pretty good, and have a longer warranty.

    here is the same warranty for all hdd (3 years)
    it was a period of time when Seagat has 5 years warranty but... now it's back to 3 years.
    but it's not about the warranty it's about the stuff i have on my hdd. i'll loose everything, right?

    just back up your hdd at random intervals in the event of a crash/failure. you will always have a hard disk to fall back on !!! simple as that. i backed up my entire hard drive on 4 dvd's (but it was just a test mode, and i did not have the hdd loaded)
