Hi all I need is to get this question answered because I used to have a softmodded xbox with a Maxtor 160GB HDD inside it and my old xbox broke so I (Saved) the Maxtor HDD. I recently got an xbox from my friend the other day so I am going to soft-mod it and I wanted to know if I could just pop in my Maxtor and will it work Or not or will I have to do the whole formatting thing over again or is the HDD a paperweight?? can someone please reply thanks !
You need to unlock the Maxtor with the eeprom from the broken Xbox, then get the eeprom from the new one and relock it. Then it will work!
