headphones

    Hi

    Does the apple ipod use a standard headphone socket or a specific 'apple' connector? Am looking at the 30gb uk model but cant use the inear things.

    I don't live in the UK but I'm pretty sure it's the same there. The iPod uses a standard headphone jack, but if your looking to output your video using a standard cable [looks like a standard headphone jack but has an extra band of metal] you need to switch the right output and the video one to get your image and sound.

    But yes, the iPod is compatable with all headphones.

    The iPod indeed uses a normal headphone jack.

    A pair of earphones that I recommend as a substitute for the *very poor* iPod earphones would be the [bold]Sony MDR-EX71SLB Fontopia Headphones[/bold]. They produce a very rich sound & deep bass. More info & purchase can be found here..

    I had those same exact ones and they were great. But one day the left one just stopped working out of nowhere. Kind of strange, for all the money they cost.
