Hi Does the apple ipod use a standard headphone socket or a specific 'apple' connector? Am looking at the 30gb uk model but cant use the inear things. Emma x
I don't live in the UK but I'm pretty sure it's the same there. The iPod uses a standard headphone jack, but if your looking to output your video using a standard cable [looks like a standard headphone jack but has an extra band of metal] you need to switch the right output and the video one to get your image and sound. But yes, the iPod is compatable with all headphones.
The iPod indeed uses a normal headphone jack. A pair of earphones that I recommend as a substitute for the *very poor* iPod earphones would be the [bold]Sony MDR-EX71SLB Fontopia Headphones[/bold]. They produce a very rich sound & deep bass. More info & purchase can be found here.. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00008XYJL/202-5307425-2823054
I had those same exact ones and they were great. But one day the left one just stopped working out of nowhere. Kind of strange, for all the money they cost.
