I heard from a friend (which albeit, cannot confirm anything) But.. (btw this isn't nag3 hack or w.e w.e) He has been told by a supplier that once the UK is fully implemented with NAG3, thus all completely gone.. People other than starview & kryptview will be seeking to earn some money from the linux enabled box's, thus using the ones with the LAN Ports to CS. Now i don't know if this is true, but it sounds as though it is possible, the only thing being, because they will be using linux box's with lan ports, they would obviously have to create an image also to go along with there server? Now, with my knowledge of what i know, which ill admit, isnt as good as some on here.. It seems as though this is actually possible, if these suppliers are willing to set up server somewere (which is a risk in its self) My friend said you'de be talking something like £50 a year plus the cost of your linux&lan enabled box.. This actually sounds do-able, and also sounds as though it could be possible and £50ish also sounds a reasonable price to pay?
basicly its the same method of kryptview although they will have a server, with a linux box (probs something like the DBOX2) with an image set up to use the lan port (just like kryptivew does) whats so hard about that? what makes it so impossible? why so "in my best dreams"? as i stated, this isnt facts, its what ive had abit of banter with a friend about.. he said he heard it from the "dodgey box man" (his supplier) which then i had a think, and it sounds possible, as thats all kryptview and starview are doing? correct or incorrect?
not being a newsense mate.. (or trying not too) just want answers !! no but surely you know were im coming from... like i said this is just abit of banter from my mate which i actually thought about and "thought" its possible that it may happen in the near future.. (money grabbers...) like i said i just wanted to knwo if it "is" possible and that im going along the right lines.. and im open to the correct information or the flaw in what i think could happen.. then you can explain the flaw and ill then hold my hands up and say "oh yeah, woops.." ?
what can i say, so i observe the right to say nothing. try some other user to get your deep answers on life mysteryx. i do not offer conjecture, just the truth.
Of course it could be done, but, its not something that should or could be discussed on here, but its the same as a private share, same theory, but they are charging for it, no more or less that SV or Krypt
I certainly wouldn't discuss the ins and outs of it on this forum but in answer to the original poster, yes, it is entirely possible and it would not surprise me in the least if this is the next move by the dealers to make some revenue. Same method just different boxes.
dont really understand some people on these forums, its supposed to help and support people and to answer questions and queries.. although there are some odd people who make things hard for people who have questions and queries.. (i am targetting you, but not personally, your probably a nice guy, pissed off with answering the same Qs over and over but you know..) thanks mickah and mooley, you both answered perfectly, thats all that was needed to answer my question! i am aware stuff like that shouldn't be spoken about on an open forum, but lets face it, im a nobody on this scene, and i know whats going on behind the scenes.. therfore the people who we should "hide this information from" should know alot more than me, so in effect im not really doing anything wrong??!?? (just tring to be clever here, ignore me! ) anyhow, off the subject of this now, my questions have been answered ! whilst im here though.. any news on a HD box being produced yet? (starview or kryptview)
starview already have the hd box out, "the hd combo" for both cable and sat just 1 other thing yes you do get pi$$ed off answering the same Questions 10 times a day, especially if the question has been asked and answered like 2 or 3 posts before their post nothing to do with "yourself" or "fintannl"
cool cool, i agree with the 10 same questions a day getting pissed.. but im sure what i have asked about "linux boxes and lan ports" hasnt been asked 10 times a day everyday on this forum, thats why i posted a new thread about it.. wasn't and still aren't trying to piss anyone off here, just think people should be given a chance (me) when ive been here a while (so be it, not like you guys, helping everyone) but ive done my research and i know a fair ammount (not as much as you guys im sure..) and just wanted a simple answer.. which was acheived eventually... anyhow cheers for the starview thing, i know it is available, but i thought the cable side is now obselete (n3) until future developments occur? and i meant the "lan enabled" boxes, are they thinking or producing a HD version anytime soon?? (or am i missing the point and starview hd combo is lan enabled and is currently working??)
yes the sv.combo is lan enabled works exact same way as the sv.6 on cable side and both sides are currently working in the uk, but the sat side only works in ire read up on the dreambox options aswell!
