I soon will be installing the freezer pro 7 for a q6600 on a 750i The freezer 7 comes with pre applied thermal paste. Question is: Do i need to apply thermal paste to the CPU aswell? or will the cpu layer on the cooler be enough? thanks !
opps sorry wrote that wrong, will the thin layer of thermal paste on the Heatsink, be enough to transfer the heat? or do i need paste on both the heatsink, AND the cpu.
Most people prefer to remove the pre-applied paste that you have no idea of the quality, and use a known good paste such as arctic silver. But that doesnt really answer the question, pre-applied on one surface is enough so you would not add to the pre-applied paste. In fact, your instruction manual for the cooler probably says somewhere to make sure the surface is clean before attaching it.
