The solderless adapter on the chameleon or Xenium is REALLY easy to install unless you want to solder the P&E points (Which are now solderless on the Xenium). It took me 20 minutes opening, installing and closing the case. But a very easy mod which takes 15 minutes max but doesn't allow you to play on Live

Daskins, I have the same chip as you, as you can see in my signature. It was a fairly easy process, except for finding that D0 point! I'm very happy with the chip so far, owned it since Christmas and no problems. I would recomend this chip to anyone with no solder skills!

yeah i got confused on the Do point but i eventually found it 5 minutes later then no prob after that, the lite+ chip was fairly easy too, the next thing i wanna do is install a xenium chip in a spare box that i have since i'm selling a couple of my games i'll order the chip this week hopefully ;)

Is the Xenium chip solderless also? If I may ask why 2 xbox's, any advantages? lol

nah no real advantage really but i have younger siblings i use one box for storing movies and music ketp in the living room another in my room just for games and other stuff and i recently got another box because of the price break so i will give mines to my little brothers to keep in their room and mod the new one with a xenium chip to keep in mine :)

I have the 2.3 pro and it installed fairly easy. Once I got the hang of scale as far as the instructions go(things were a lot smaller than I imagined). I used a magnifying glass for the old eyes and things went well. I also installed the pogo pin so swapping will be easier.

have a 2.2 lite plus, d0 point I just scraped lightly , and soldered a tiny tiny bit of solder to "tin" the area
I had a thomson drive in my xbox (since changed it to a samsung) but it loaded the bios ok (4977)
used the xavier disc to load evox and the other dashes etc
just changed the evox.ini to set xbmp as default as Im an idle sob and like to use a remote
since then, its been fine not had a prob really
added a few apps an emulators since of course

I've installed the AppleX Pro, AppleX V and DuoX - all were easy - especially when using a pin header instead of direct soldering.

either way these things are child's play compared to installing a PS2 chip!

You got that right shadownyt!!! I have installed about 100 x2 series chips about 20 xeniums and 7 xbits and there were all very easy. Especially compared to a ps2 and those damn V9-V10 units. But the things yu can do with and xbox once its modded are WAY cooler than PS2.

So true... 120GB plus HDs!! if only the PS2...

You want to know a secret though... I still don't personally own either (no time to play plus have a nice PC set up). So to me both stations have their appeal but from a technical aspect only...

no point in the pro unless youre into development etc.
Yep ps2 pain to fit, yet EAASSSY to make backups
    1 on 1
since the flip top tho, ps2 got easier
    opps sorry,xbox forum lol
    I took my solderless x2 2.2 out, soldered a 2.3b in
    much better conection.
Theres a way to make the 2.3b solderless better too, but it means using a solder rework heat blower, easier than a soldering iron, but it kinda defeats the "no solder" idea a bit. You do get a great connection to the d0 though.
